What is the cost per night?

Off Season: 11th March - 30th Nov 2024  $355 per night (min stay 2 nights or cleaning surcharge applies)
High Season: 1st Dec 2024 - 20st Dec 2024  $385 per night (min stay 2 nights or cleaning surcharge applies)
Peak Season: 21nd Dec 2024 - 11 Jan 2025 $395 per night (3 night min stay or cleaning surcharge apply for 1 or 2 nights stay)
High Season: 12th Jan 2025 - 9th March 2025  $385 per night (min stay 2 nights or cleaning surcharge applies)

Off Season: 10th March 2025 - $355 per night
All weekends which include a public holiday are 3 night minimum stay except Easter being 4 nights otherwise pay a $75 cleaning stay for less nights.

Can I stay one night only?

Yes, we are happy for you to stay one night, just email me an inquiry. We do charge an extra $75 cleaning fee.

How do I know if the day I want to stay is available?

When making a booking the calendar will show available dates. Dates already booked are crossed out.

How do I pay?

After you submit your booking you will receive an email with direct deposit payment details.

How many people can stay?

A maximum of 2 people - Matapouri Glamping is designed for couples only.

 

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 2pm. Please plan to arrive before dark to easily locate the glamping site as it is on a farm and the nursery. The site is clearly sign posted. If this isn’t possible please text at let us know your arrival time.

Check-out is 10am.

 

How do I cancel/reschedule my booking? Can I get a refund?

Our standard policy is .. yes! you can cancel your booking and we offer a full refund if the booking is cancelled 14 or more days prior to your booked arrival date. For 7 - 14 days notice you will get 50% refund. Less than 7 days notice sorry there is no refund.
If you wish to rescheduled your stay for another date we are happy to do so up to one month prior to your stay. However, there is an admin fee of 15% of your booking rate.
Please email us if you need to reschedule or cancel your booking.

What if there is a severe weather warning?

If there is a severe weather forecast we will call you as soon as possible prior to your scheduled arrival date. You can choose whether to defer your holiday to a later date subject to availability or receive a full refund

 

Do you offer gift vouchers?

How many nights stay, single night can be arranged with a cleaning surcharge of $75 added.

Can I bring my dog or cat?

No dogs or cats are allowed as Matapouri Glamping is located on Tawapou Farm which is protected under the Queen Elizabeth 11 Trust.

 

Are camp fires permitted?

No fires are allowed on the property as Matapouri Glamping is located on Tawapou Farm which is protected under the Queen Elizabeth 11 Trust with a lot of mature and generating bush.

 

Are children allowed?

Sorry no children. Take the time as a couple to relax and enjoy the break away.

 

Is food provided or do we bring our own?

Please bring your own food. We provide tea, coffee, sugar and milk, salt and pepper and cooking oil. The glamping kitchen is fitted out with all utensils and a gas Weber BBQ, gas double burner rings suitable for creating your own meals.

There are supermarkets in Whangarei or shop at the local Ngunguru, Tutukaka and Matapouri general stores. 

In your tent will be a voucher for you to enjoy a complimentary expresso coffee in the gardens next door at Tawapou Coastal Natives during nursery open hours.

 

Can we drive all the way to the glamping site?

Yes. The glamping site is well sign posted and can be driven to by any vehicle. As the drive is shared by residents, nursery clients and staff we do ask you to drive slowly and carefully and beware of other traffic. There is plenty of parking with room for your boat.

 

Where is the nearest medical centre?

The nearest medical centre is Ngunguru (10 mins drive) phone number is 09 4343732. Dial 111 for medical emergencies. A basic first aid kit is located in the tent.

 

Can I smoke?

No smoking or vaping inside or near the tent. Please take extreme care when smoking and make sure you extinguish and dispose of your cigarette properly due to the extreme fire hazard near the regenerating bush.

 

What if something goes wrong or I can’t find what I need?

Glamping is the perfect opportunity to unplug and wind down from phones and computers, however we recommend that you still bring your mobile phone just in case. The site is in range for mobile and 4G reception, we do not have free WiFi. The tent is powered and does have a USB charger.
